SOME ACTIVITIES and INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

1. Science Fair:

In its first year, March 2006, HIBS organized a science Fair and Art Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh
City. It was organized in a very central park which is open to public. The event lasted three
days and students of HIBS introduced their works in science and art to the people visiting
the fair area. Students prepared over one hundred projects in Maths, Chemistry, Physics,
Biology, Computer and Art.

2. Language and Culture Fair:

In the second year of the school, March 2007, HIBS organized another big event in the
central park where the Science Fair organized. This event also lasted in three days and this
time, students prepared many interesting games and lessons in five languages, which are
Vietnamese, English, Japanese, Turkish and Spanish. Students also introduced the culture of
these countries.

Besides these activities, some competitions in five different categories, which are poetry
recitation, prose recitation, singing in English, Drama and Oral proficiency. Winner of these
competitions were awarded with money and a Singapore Trip.

3. International INEPO Environmental Olympics.

Four students of our school’s took part in this in July 2007 and with their project about
coconut oil they got the third prize and medals.

4. International Turkish Olympics:

Our students took part in 5th International Turkish Olympics. A group of eight students in
traditional dance category won the 1st prize and gold medal, which made Vietnam very
popular in Turkey.

And also our students participated in poetry recitation and song category. Among 110
countries Vietnam was in top ten in song category and in top five in poetry recitation
category. Especially our student Hanh Nguyen Hua Dieu became very popular in Turkey and
contributed a lot to the introduction of Vietnam in Turkey. Her performance video has been
viewed over 20,000 times in three months, which is unbelievable and important for Vietnam’s
being popular
