Secondary School Curriculum

HIBS Secondary Department follows the curriculum of the Vietnamese MOET (Ministry of Education and Training). HIBS is also a member of CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and follows the Cambridge Lower Secondary Program along side the curriculum of Vietnamese MOET. Students successfully completing our secondary school program can earn the national secondary school diploma of Vietnam and the international secondary school diploma from the University of Cambridge International Examinations. The Cambridge Lower Secondary Program is a framework of educational success for students approximately 11-14 years old; it builds on the primary stage, and develops children’s knowledge and skills in English, Mathematics and Science.

The Lower Secondary program also offers its secondary schools with a means of tracking student progress in the lower secondary phase, with an integrated plan of teaching, learning and assessment materials. Upon completion of the Lower Secondary, students can also sit for Cambridge Checkpoint tests which provide detailed feedback on students’ strengths and weaknesses before they move into the 14-16 years of age/IGCSE/O Level stage of instruction.

High School Curriculum

Similar to Horizon’s Secondary department, the High School Department follows the curriculum of the Vietnamese MOET for high schools. HIBS is also a member of CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and follows the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum along side the curriculum of the Vietnamese MOET. Students successfully completing our high school can earn the national high school diploma for Vietnam and the IGCSE diploma from the University of Cambridge International Examinations. Cambridge IGCSE is an international curriculum that develops students' skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving, and gives them excellent preparation for the next stage of their education. HIBS schools can offer any combination of subjects. Each subject is certified separately.
